Judges Comments:

Sydney's inner west was the scene for this extension to an existing house with major internal renovations, a new studio to the rear of the property and all landscaping. As this was a semi - detached dwelling, space was a big issue and project managing materials and contractors required good time management skills.

The studio was clad in QTA EcoSeries wall cladding, which gave the project a time completion benefit with quick instillation. Among the other pluses of this material are that it is environmentally responsible, lightweight, fire resistant, tough and durable and doesn't require bricklayers.

Innovative Construction Group's two directors have vast project management skills and the company's project vast experience ranges from small extensions to luxury residences. The work on this semi - detached cottage included underpinning, a rear extension, an attic storeroom, major internal renovations and a new self - contained studio at the rear. The extension of the roof created fire - separation problems from the adjoining property, which the builder overcame with the use of a blade wall that did not compromise the appearance.
